The Minister of Justice today published the Policing Authority Review of Public Order Policing. The Authority’s review was provided to Minister McEntee in August 2024. The review was conducted following a Ministerial request in November 2023. It is not a review of the specific events which occurred in Dublin City on 23 November 2023, rather a holistic review of public order policing across the country. In preparing the review the Authority had significant engagement with public order Gardaí, Garda Management, and a wide range of stakeholders.
