The Policing Authority held its monthly meeting yesterday (14th March 2016), which included a meeting with senior members of the Garda Síochána. The Authority received a briefing on operational policing and discussed preparations for the Garda Síochána Strategy Statement for 2016-18 which is due to be approved by the Authority by end June 2016.
Subsequent to each meeting of the Authority the agenda for the meeting and minutes of the previous meeting will be published on the Authority’s website. Click here to see the documents published today.
The Authority’s first public meeting with the Garda Commissioner will take place on the 25th of April 2016. The previous intention to hold this meeting on 14th March was changed to facilitate an unexpected scheduling difficulty for Garda Commissioner Noirín O’Sullivan who is absent from the State on official business. Further details regarding the April public meeting, including arrangements for attendance of members of the public, will be available on the Authority’s website in the coming weeks.
