Eligibility to apply for this Selection Competition
The following persons are eligible to apply for a competition for appointment to the rank of Chief Superintendent in the Garda Síochána:
- a member of the Garda Síochána not below the rank of Inspector who has served not less than 2 years in that rank on the date on which the competition commences, i.e. 05 September 2018;
- a member of the PSNI not below the rank of Inspector who has served not less than 2 years in that rank on the date on which the competition commences, i.e. 05 September 2018.
Please note that service refers to substantive service at the rank of Inspector.
A competition commences on the latest date on which a candidate may apply, in this case 05 September 2018.

The closing date for receipt of completed application forms is 5pm Wednesday 05 September 2018. Applications received after this time will not be considered.
