Following an annual review in October 2023, the Policing Authority has today published an update to the Policing Priorities for the Garda Síochána 2022-2024, to include three additional success measures concerning roads policing and workforces health and wellbeing.
On 29 November 2023, the Minister for Justice requested that the Authority advise her as to what might enhance policing performance and support the Gardaí in the exercise of their lawful powers in situations such as arose during the riots in Dublin City Centre on 23 November. The Authority’s response to this request is outlined in its letter to the Minister for Justice on 29 December 2023. The letter is available here.
