The Policing Authority welcomed the posthumous award of the Scott Medal to Detective Garda Adrian Donohoe at a ceremony at the Garda College in Templemore today and recognised the recipients of other awards for bravery in the line of duty including Silver and Bronze Scott Medals and Commissioner’s Commendations.
Speaking at the Ceremony in Templemore today, Policing Authority Chairperson Josephine Feehily said:
‘I congratulate the members of the Garda Síochána who were recognised today for the bravery they have shown in protecting our Community. These awards rightly acknowledge the risks that members of the Garda Síochána take every day for our sakes, sometimes making the ultimate sacrifice, as in the case of Detective Garda Adrian Donohoe.’
The Chairperson was accompanied at today’s award ceremony by Authority Members Dr. Vicky Conway and Ms. Valerie Judge.
