The Policing Authority is an independent statutory body which was established on 1 January 2016. The Authority was established by the Garda Síochána (Policing Authority and Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 2015 on 01 January 2016. Our primary function is to oversee the performance of the Garda Síochána in relation to policing services.
