The financial allocation for the Authority is set out each year in the Estimates of Public Expenditure published by the Department of Public Expenditure & Reform. The Budget Estimates are produced as part of the annual Budget-day documentation and a further detailed breakdown of the proposed allocations is presented in the Revised Estimates Volume (REV) which is published and voted on by the Dáil. The audited Appropriation Account of the Authority each year is published in the Comptroller and Auditor General Appropriation Accounts publication. (See Vote 41). The Policing Authority is committed to making every effort to pay its suppliers promptly. Payment of invoices by the Authority is governed by the Prompt Payments of Accounts Act 1997 as amended by the European Communities (Late Payment in Commercial Transactions) Regulations 2012 (Statutory Instrument 580 of 2012). Additionally, under a non-statutory requirement on Government Departments, the Authority is obliged to pay suppliers within 15 days of receipt of a valid invoice.
