The Policing Authority invites statutory consultees, other key stakeholders and members of the public to provide their views in relation to the Policing Priorities for 2019.

The Policing Authority has a function under the Garda Síochána Act 2005 to determine Policing Priorities for the Garda Síochána each year. The Policing Priorities are crucial because they influence the annual Policing Plan which sets out the actions, commitments and targets to be achieved by the Garda Síochána in that year.

The Authority has developed a set of draft 2019 Policing Priorities. These were informed by a number of activities which included a review of previous and comparator Policing Plans, engagement with stakeholders and consultation with the Joint Policing Committees.

The Authority intends to finalise these in September 2018 and in order to inform our thinking in determining these priorities, would appreciate the views of our statutory consultees and other key stakeholders.

We would request that all submissions be received in writing to the Policing Authority, 90 King Street North, Smithfield, Dublin 7 or by email to info@policingauthority.ie before close of business on Friday 7 th September 2018.
